Trip to Chicago

I know you probably came on here and thought, "oh wow, Erin actually updated!" And you would sorta be right. I am updating but I don't actually have anything specific I want to tell you. I just felt like I ought to update because it has been so long.

Let's see. We have been in Chicago nearly 2 weeks. For anyone who doesn't know, Steve is doing the summer sales thing, selling security systems. He is doing well so far, so hopefully he will continue to improve and we will make enough so that he doesn't have to work while in school this next year. *fingers crossed*

The trip out here wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It was over 24 hours and we drove straight through (by 'we' I mean 'Steve'). We left St. George at 9:30am on Friday and arrived in Chicago at 12:30pm on Saturday. We certainly had some issues, but they weren't at all related to children's behavior, like I was expecting. I made a point of buying tons of cheap toys for the trip, and the novelty of the new toys combined with the portable DVD player made for REALLY well behaved children. Shocked? I was too.

It wasn't perfect. Believe me. Logan was car sick the entire first day and throwing up constantly. It was so sad. My car still stinks. We actually had to stop and buy him something else to wear.

It poured almost the entire second day. Our suitcases were on the top of the car. awesome. There was nothing we could do about it so we just kept driving.

We have a cute little 2 bedroom apartment here. I wish it was a cute little 3 bedroom. The boys are killing us off. I don't know what the reason is but they seem to think that they can't sleep past 5:30. You would think with the time difference they would be sleeping later. Alas, this is not the case.

All in all we are enjoying ourselves here. Still trying to work out some kinks, but overall things are back to normal. We will be out here till the end of August, so if anyone wants to stay at our apartment in St George this summer let me know and we will set you up.

Guess I'll go make some lunch. What do you think, hot dogs or PB&J?

Have you tried Chicago-style pizza yet? To die for! I wanted to diet for a few days afterwards, but it was totally worth it!

I laughed out loud about what you said about the suitcases! You are incredibly cheerful for having a kid throw up half the time! In the car, is the worst! I am so glad that you made it to Chicago safely! I am glad that Steve is doing well! Good luck! I hear there is so much to do in Chicago!
