Daylight Savings? not here!

I decided to not change all of my clocks over when daylight savings hit. why you ask? well, I will tell you. Logan has a clock in his room and he knows that he goes to bed at 7 and gets up at 7. I left his clock the same and am keeping their schedules the same, so that they are now staying up till 8 and not getting up till 8. I am loving it. It is taking a bit of effort to remember to push all of our routines back an hour, but it is worth it for an extra hour of sleep. The only problem I am having is that Logan is starting to understand roman numerals a bit and he is trying to read my clock in the living room. He says things to me like, "I know that V one is 5 so I know it is 5 something." Pretty soon this kid is going to be too smart for me.

So I won't bore you......

I decided that my Endo story might have been too much to share, so I have removed it. I didn't delete it. I decided that I didn't want to fill my family blog with depressing stories of my health problems, so I am going to put all things Endo related on a separate blog. That way those of you that are interested can check it without me feeling like I am sharing too much with those that might be less comfortable with it. fair enough? okay. if anyone is interested, or knows someone who has Endo, here is the link www.myendolife.blogspot.com.

This is something I have been mulling over for awhile, and I am glad that I have finally done it, it will be nice to kind of journal my Endo without it interrupting the fun stuff! Thanks!

Bronson is 3!

I am headed to bed right now, but I wanted to do a quick post to acknowledge Bronson's 3rd Birthday. I can't believe my little guy is 3! I wanted to do a post with a bunch of pictures but my laptop has most my pics on it and it is not functioning right now. Gimme a minute, let me see what I can find.

Well, I found a few, but most of them you have already seen. Here are a few favorites from the last year.

I loved this hair on Bronson, I still miss it. I think this one and the next were taken in April of last year. I cut his hair shortly after these pics. Such a cutie! Can't get enough of the hair!Love this one of Steve and his Boys.

Logan had gotten himself and Bronson breakfast. (which he still does) and they were enjoying their yogurt together.Love those eyes.Okay, this one I probably need to explain a bit. I bought this washer/dryer at DI for $4 and it needed some serious TLC. the boys were having a great time helping clean it up. ( I will post pictures, it still isn't done.)Superheroes are a BIG thing in this house. I made a bunch of masks for the boys (and apparently mama) to wear. We love being silly together.

Happy Birthday Bronson! We love having you in the family. We love how sweet and innocent you are and the way you can't pronounce your "L's". I love how you call a sandwich a 'schwan-wich'. And a wallaby is a 'wadda beep'. I love how you are constantly singing, whether it is 'mommy, i love you' or 'super hero squad' or 'alphabet zoo'. I love how you give me the puppy dog eyes and make it so hard to get after you. I love how you are so independent and 'big'. We love you!

Bronson's Buggy Invitations

Bronson's 3rd birthday is coming up and today I made the invitations for his 'bug party'. Not at all the original idea I had in mind, but I actually like these more than what I was picturing. The boys had a great time helping, they got to pick which bugs to put on each. Anyone want to come? we would love to see everyone! and I hear it is supposed to be around 70! woo hoo!

stories of my life

I know what y'all are thinking. "Erin blogged again? but it hasn't even been a month yet." I know, I know, I am a slacker. But I am trying to be better.

A few stories for you, before I forget them again.

The other night we had carrots as a side dish and we were telling the boys how carrots are good for your eyes and help you see better. Logan inhales his and opens his eyes real big and then gets frustrated because his eyesight wasn't any better. I guess he thought he would be able to see through walls or something.

Logan has a fan in his room, but he doesn't like it on because it makes noise. Instead, he strips down at night to his undies. (if we are lucky!) I can't tell you how many times he has come into our room in the morning with his footie pajamas around his ankles, or no shirt/pants on.

Bronson is turning 3 next month and we (meaning me) are planning him a bug party. He is very excited about it and I am having fun trying to think of bug themed games and favors. Can I just tell you how much I ♥ Oriental Trading. And I am not the only one, we got a catalog from them the other day and Logan spent probably 1/2 hour ohhing and ahhing over the items. yeah, he may be broken.

Bronson has a very active imagination. Usually this is great. But at nighttime it can be a problem. He is afraid of everything. He is worried that his toys are going to come to life. He keeps telling me that his 'mickey mouse pieces are getting scarier'. Just last night I had to give him one of my pillows because he was worried his pillow was going to come to life. (just to clarify a bit, his pillow is a caterpillar/bug.)

In other news, my good friend who was a neighbor at our old apartment just moved down the street! I am so excited to have her close by again, and I just love watching our boys all play together. welcome to the neighborhood Krystal!

I found a great website the other day that I wanted to share with ya'll. Make and Takes. she has a great/simple recipe for edible play dough. it is made with peanut butter. my boys just loved it! we and a great time and they ate as we went. they couldn't believe they were allowed to eat it.

she also has an easy recipe for german pancakes. they pretty much taste like crepes but with out the work! my boys could eat half a pan, easy.

Another site I found a while ago and I have been wanting to pass on, for those of you who don't read craft/decor blogs. This site is AWESOME. It is called Knock Off Wood. What she does is show you how to make furniture! Like Pottery Barn and Land of Nod furniture. she breaks it down step by step, I have about 15 things on my list that I want to build. YAY! Don't cry over spilled . . . cereal?

I was awakened this morning by Logan telling me that he had spilled cereal all over. He was very concerned that I would be upset. I wasn't. I came out to the kitchen to see what the damage was and it wasn't that bad. It was mostly on the table, not even half a bowl worth.

Then I noticed the rest of the table. Logan had gotten them both breakfast. cups, bowls, spoons, milk, everything. He had even gotten out two different kinds of cereal.

As I am coming out I hear Logan say "No Bronson! You can't eat yet, we haven't had prayer!"

So so sweet! Logan can sure be a handful sometimes, and it is moments like these that I remind me that he truly is a sweetheart and wants to be good.

current events

Well, we have been in our new place for 2 months now, and we are pretty settled. I guess it is about time that I get back into blogging, both here and on my crafty blog. (that is if anyone still reads either)


We are loving our new place. I am loving the vaulted ceilings and the extra cupboard space and especially the garage! it is so great to have a place to do my furniture revamps. and I have been taking full advantage of that. I have several projects i need to post, but I have also been doing some simple fixes. i will try to get around to posting pictures, for those interested.

the boys are being their usual crazy selves. they both received bikes for Christmas and have been having a good time figuring them out. luckily our street is extremely quiet so they get to do a lot of practicing.

Bronson, who showed a lot of potty interest this past summer is now completely uninterested. he is totally unbribable too. it sucks. not sure what to do about it.

Logan turns 5 this June, so he can start school this fall. we are debating whether to have him start this year or next. have any of you dealt with that? what do you recommend? Steve and i both have august birthdays, we are just 5 days apart. but because of boundaries, i graduated a year ahead of him. i hated being the youngest, and he loved being the oldest. it is a hard thing for us to decide.

Steve just started his third semester of nursing school, just one more and he can get his RN's license. of course after that we still have about 274 years of school left before we will be completely done. ah well, progress is progress. Steve hasn't been able to find a job, and that is really tough, but we are still hoping and looking. part of the problem is that he needs either a Saturday only shift or a super flexible shift. his class schedule is just craa-aazy.

overall, things are good. we are broke, but happy! we also love visitors, so if you want to get away from the snow for a bit let us know, we would love to have you.
