A boy and his hat

For those of you that are unfortunate enough to not see Bronson everyday, you may be unaware of his pirate hat obsession. This post is for you. I have been making an effort to document his obsession. Here is some proof of his NEED to always wear his hat.

Overly Excited!

As many of you know, I am a total blog-stalker of thrifty decor chick. A while ago I was inspired by a bookshelf that she had done and I made my own. Today she mentioned my bookshelf on her blog! ( along with several other, more talented, women.) For her blog click here. For just the post that mentioned me (however briefly) click here. I am pretty much giddy over the whole thing. Like a celebrity just said hello to me or something. I am such a nerd!

the whale and the ladybug

Logan got a blow up whale toy for his birthday from Aunt Jen and Uncle Ben, and it is a big hit everytime we go to the pool, and not just with our kids, with every other kid at the pool. The boys are doing a great job sharing. This is Bronson today, he was all ready to go to the pool and he was trying to get the whale over to the door. He was struggling but very determined to do it without help.
I found a ladybug in our apartment today. Logan is thrilled. I don't know how long it will make it before it gets squished.

just for dads and grandpas.

Birds and the Bees with a 4 year old. Hmmmmm

Logan is a curious boy. Like most children his age, he is always asking 'why?'

Logan asked me how babies get in girls' tummies. I thought, "Oh boy! He is barely 4, how do I say this so that he understands without telling him too much or without scaring him to death!"

I said, "After they are married, then girls can get babies in their tummies."

He said, "But how do the babies get there?"

I said, "After they are married Heavenly Father can put babies in girls' tummies. They grow there until they are ready to be born, and then they are born and they keep growing some more."

Awkward! He seemed satisfied with my answer. Hopefully, he won't ask again for several years.

Poor Bronson

Steve and I woke up this morning to the unmistakable sounds of someone throwing up. It was Bronson. Poor little guy. He was so miserable. So pale. Just wanted me to cuddle with him. Totally not 'Bronson'. Thankfully he seemed to feel better about halfway through the day.

Jen was kind enough to take Logan to the aquarium for me. I am glad Logan didn't have to miss out just because Bronson was sick. I was so glad he was out having fun, rather than at home driving me crazy while I tried to take care of sick little mister. He just laid here for awhile, not moving. So pathetic. Later in the day, he was feeling much better, but still not 100%.

Happy, happy birthday Logan!

I cannot believe my little guy is 4! We had a fun time celebrating out here in Chicago. Some of the other families came over and we had pizza and cake. It was simple and fun. Though you know if we were at home we would have thrown a big ol' party. I love making a big deal over birthdays. He received many thoughtful gifts and pretty much doubled the amount of toys we have out here. I took a ton of pictures of him opening presents, but they are all on Jen's camera.
He is getting so big! I am amazed by how smart he is. He uses the computer so well, plays games like 'mahjong titans' and 'spot the difference'. He does 100 piece puzzles like they are nothing. He is a great help to me (and often a headache!). He is obsessed with who he is going to marry. He loves to color- especially with markers,- and he loves to have me color a picture and then he colors the same picture to match it. He is happiest when he is outside running free with the other boys. He needs his 'little bear' to sleep. He takes care of Bronson and gets upset when Bronson cries. He is an early riser and very independent. He likes to follow rules and is easily frustrated when other children don't follow the same rules. His laugh instantly melts my heart.
If I were to choose one word to describe Logan it would be 'energy'. Steve said his would be 'spirited'.
