Beautiful Boys

If you notice the wall hanging in the background it is a beautiful nativity scene that Steve's mom made for us. She is always making me gorgeous things for our home. I am so excited to have Christmas together as a family. Just enjoy hanging out together.

Black Friday Fun

The day after Thanksgiving is a favorite of mine. I like getting up so early that it was pointless to go to bed to begin with and go out and fight for a good deal. This is only my second year participating in the black Friday frenzy, I didn't go last year because I was ill, but the year before I got such amazing deals that I was hooked. I can't say that I got AS good of deals this year, but everything I got WAS at least 50% off.

The first time I went I was with two of my sister-in-laws, Julie and Katie. None of us had ever participated before and we did not come prepared for how COLD it was. It was like 4 am and the store didn't open till 5 or 6 and we were so cold we actually sent Katie home to get us blankets. We were at K-Mart. Our mission: Fisher Price Laugh-n-Roar Dinosaur, normally $35 marked down to $7. We were hoping to get two, one for Logan (who was nearly 6 months) and one for nearly born Jonathon. We stood / sat outside forever, finally the doors opened and everyone made a mad dash for their desired items. It was such an adrenaline rush! We found and purchased the ONLY TWO dinosaurs. We were in and out in 5 minutes. We made other great finds that day but none had quite the same feeling.

This year was MUCH different. I went with my mother-in-law and two sister-in-laws, Katie and Michelle. We all had different things we were hoping to buy but our first stop was Wal-Mart. We got up at 3:30 and arrived at the store at 4:15, though it didn't open till 5. We were all prepared this year in layers and coats and blankets, some even wearing thermal underwear! However these preparations were unnecessary. Wal-mart does things differently than K-Mart does. Instead of having the crowds wait outside freezing to death they allow you inside to wait by your desired item but you are not allowed to grab it until the store is officially open. Now I know what you are thinking, 'Wow! That is a great idea. That way no one freezes. That way you already know if you will be able to get what you want.' All good points.

All in all I think I actually prefer the freezing scenario. Yes, I was very cold, and yes, I didn't know if I would be able to get what I wanted. But it was so much more rewarding having to search for and snatch what I wanted than having to simply pick it up after having waited comfortably. I guess the reason I enjoyed it so much more the first time was because I had to fight for it. It wasn't just given to me.

Kids Favorite Things

Logan loves to play with boxes, I don't know why we have toys. I think he looks like a transformer.

One of his favorite shows is "Go, Diego, Go". This morning he was doing a puzzle and "Diego" came on, I asked Logan if he wanted to watch it and he vehemently replied "First I have to finish my puzzle! Then I can watch it!"

Another favorite of Logan's is clay. (Being the clean freak that I am I make him sit in Bronson's highchair when he plays with it. Otherwise he walks all over the place making a mess.) Anyway, here he is in the process of making a sculpture with his clay "tools".

Bronson thinks he is much older than he is and WILL NOT let us feed him. So whatever I feed him I have to make sure it is something he is able to do himself. This was baby ravioli and vegtables. His highchair tray is still stained.
He was such a mess! Good thing he is such a sweetie!

Uncle Joe

Last night we went to the airport to see Steve's brother, Joe come home from his mission. He was serving in Kenya. Last time we saw him Logan was only five months old, and of course Bronson wasn't even born. I am sure it was quite a shock for Joe to see how much everyone has grown. A lot happened while he was away, he had two nephews and a neice born, one "farewell" and two "homecomings", and a wedding, just to name a few. He was excited to see everyone, Bronson went right to him. Logan, however is a different story. He was not impressed at all. He refused to have anything to do with Joe and clung close to mom and dad and grandma and grandpa. In the end, Steve was able to 'trick' him into giving Joe a good-bye kiss by having him give his other aunts and uncles kisses and then having him give Joe a kiss last. Logan didn't realize what had happened till it was too late. He immediately went back to being shy. Such a funny kid.

While we were driving home Logan was looking out his window at the moon. He told us that he wanted to get the moon, Steve and I explained to him that the moon is very high and far away. He said he would jump really high and he would get the moon and he would give it to mommy. Such a little sweetie!

Teething

Bronson is almost eight months now and has been teething. He doesn't seem to like the pain of teething very much, so sometimes I give him some Tylenol. One day, Logan saw me give some medicine to Bronson and he asked me if Bronson was sick. I told him no, Bronson is not sick, he is just hurting because he doesn't have any teeth, and is growing some in. Logan piped up with "He doesn't even have a tongue!" I told him "No, he does have a tongue, but sometimes it hurts when you are getting teeth." Logan then responded by clenching his teeth together as hard as he could and saying "Ouch! It hurts!"

This video was taken a little while ago but I just had to put it up. Everytime I watch it I laugh out loud! These two are just so cute together! Bronson can hardly breathe he is laughing so hard.

The other day Steve asked Logan to open a door for him, Logan went to the door and pulled and pulled. Finally he said to Steve "I can't open it, I am too strong!" Kids say the cutest things!
