Watched Over

Yesterday as we were driving home from visiting family we had a scary experience. We were about 20 miles north of Beaver. The rain we had been driving in was turning to snow and starting to stick. At this point we aren't sure what happened. We started fishtailing and then spinning 360s on the freeway. We were blessed that there were no other cars close to us. Somehow we slid backwards off the side of the road into the muddy, snowy, embankment. Luckily we went almost straight back, so we didn't roll. Somehow the passenger side-view mirror casing broke - we have no idea how. The drivers side front tired was completely blown out. We aren't sure if this caused the accident or was a result of the accident. Other than that we were just fine. Car was still running, dvd player still playing scooby-doo for the boys, heat still working. Logan cried a bit, Bronson was just upset that he dropped his Life Savers! Several people stopped to check on us and help. We were in the mud kinda deep with a blown tire so we knew we would need a tow. A good Samaritan named Mike was there to help. He had AAA. He called them for a tow truck and gave them his AAA number, so we didn't even have to pay for the tow. About an hour later the tow truck was able to get to us. This was the boys favorite part. They thought it was pretty cool having the tow truck pull us out and onto the flatbed. The truck driver then took us to Beaver, the boys and I stayed in the car while they took off the tires and checked them out. We only had to replace the one tire that was completely shredded. So blessed. Then we were back on the road. All in all it was a three hour detour.

All I could think about while the car was spinning was my sweet, innocent boys in the backseat. And I know Steve felt the same way. We both thought we were going to roll for sure. I am not sure what we have done to deserve Heavenly Father's protection, but wow, we feel extremely looked after. We are so grateful that he was watching over our little family and protected us. Yes, it was scary. Yes, we had a car accident, but other than that everything went perfectly. No one was hurt, very minimal damage, and Steve even made it to his job interview. We are so grateful to Heavenly Father.

Erin, that is so frightening! Jason and I had a similar experience several years ago, but we don't have kids! I can't even imagine. I'm glad everyone was safe.

Erin! How scary! We had something like this happen to us on the way to one of Levi's Marines Corps Balls. We fortunately didn't have Hallie-Kenion wasn't born yet, in the car with us at the time. But when we left her with my parent's I had a strange feeling. We really SHOULD have rolled. But we didn't. I don't know how. Well I actually do know how obviously. haha! But it was really scary and no one got hurt at all-We had a friend couple in the back too. But we were safe and everything turned out well. And it's crazy cause while we were sliding sideways down the freeway I remember feeling very safe and secure. And I was just waitin for the car to roll. Wow! this is long! haha! I'm so happy that you were all safe. That is hilarious that Bronson was upset about his lifesavers!!! Love ya!
