I know I have been a slacker when it comes to blogging lately, but the problem was I just didn't have anything that seemed blog-worthy. My days are all pretty much the same. The past few days though have been anything BUT normal- after this I could use a little normal!
Friday night we had an impromptu gathering take place in our little apartment. the "guests" included my sister Becca, her friend, my sister Jen, and her husband Ben. Any of you who have ever been in a room with me and my two younger sisters know that we get a little crazy when you put us together. I think it comes from the fact that Jen and I quote "Friends" non-stop and Becca is so fun to tease and mess around with.
We were so loud and hyper that I am surprised that Bronson didn't wake up sooner. We tried putting him back down but a few minutes later he was up again, this time with a stinky diaper. Becca took that as her cue to split. That was smart of her. I changed him and handed him to Steve figuring he was a bit hungry too. While I was in the process of bottle-making Bronson began throwing up all over Steve (this seems to happen to Steve a LOT, the kids LOVE to throw up on him). I ran to help and Jen started a bath for Bronson.
After that Jen and Ben took off too.
Well, we got him all cleaned up and laid him down in his crib, and he began throwing up AGAIN. I, stupidly, picked him up so he wouldn't be laying in it and he continued throwing up on ME. This continued till about 4 am. All day Saturday he wouldn't eat or drink anything so we were getting concerned about dehydration. I called the pediatrician and they wanted me to bring him in. At the doctor's office they gave me a syringe and had me inject Pedialyte into his mouth. She left the room to check on other kids and I got him to take nearly two ounces before he threw up all over me. I am sitting there with Bronson on my lap and the nurse still gone and we are both completely drenched in purple vomit. I am calling out into the hall that I need some help and two LONG minutes later a different nurse came to help me. I literally looked like I had had an episode of uncontrollable diarrhea. It was all over my lap and along the inside of my legs. They cleaned up the chair and the carpet as best they could and had to take the chair out and put it in a back room. I had an extra outfit for Bronson, but, silly me, had not thought to take a change of clothes for ME. They sent me home with further instructions for taking care of Bronson, and a garbage sack to sit on so I wouldn't ruin my car upholstery. I was SO embarrassed walking out into the waiting room. It was horrible!
On a postive note, Bronson seems to be doing much better now!
